What is this? Where would you find it?
Answer:
This 55-million-year-old petrified sequoia redwood from Colorado's Pike Petrified Forest was purchased in 1956 by Walt as an anniversary gift for Lillian. She donated it to Disneyland, and it was placed by the Rivers of America, in front of the Golden Horseshoe, in September 1957.

The petrified tree is located next to the water in Frontierland (near Thunder Mountain).
Shannon
Petrified tree that is next to the Rivers of America.

That is a piece of petrified wood that Walt gave to Lillian for a gift. On the 'Walk in Walt's Footsteps' tour, the tour guide said the other half of the piece was at the Disney home. When it was split, there were a number of opals inside, which were made into jewelry. So, when your husband gives you a hunk of petrified wood for a gift....you never know what may be inside!
-- I hadn't heard that about the opals before.

It's a petrified tree, you can find this near the Rivers of America in front of the Golden Horseshoe.
Bonus: it's a gift from Walt to Lillian.
