Who is this?

Answer:
This is Tom Morrow, the robot just inside the entrance to Innoventions in Disneyland's Tomorrowland. Innoventions is housed in the rotating building ("The fastest building in Disneyland!") that once housed the America Sings and Carousel of Progress attractions.

He was also known as Time Keeper in the now defunct The Time Keeper circle vision attraction in Walt Disney World.

Many thanks to Jeff Toro for helping me nail down the correct identity for this Audio-Animatronic® character at Walt Disney World. He also found a mention that a Mr. Tom Morrow served as Mission Control for Disney World's Flight to the Moon attraction from 1971 to 1975. I don't know if this actual character was used, but I would bet it was only the name that got reused, not the Audio-Animatronic® character.

One other item Jeff found mentioned him being paged in the Star Tours attraction. I was in Westminster when he emailed me this, just a hop, skip and a jump away from Disneyland, so I went back there to ride the Star Tours ride and see about this. I neither saw, nor heard any mention of Tom Morrow or Time Keeper on that ride but later confirmed that he is paged at some point in the queue area.

The responses I received were:

Jeff Toro
I didn't know they have Tom Morrow at Disneyland. Where is he?
-- Thanks again for your help! But, we still haven't figured out why you knew his name was Tom Morrow when you know him from Disney World.

Shannon
Don't know his name - I know, bad Shannon - but he is in Tomorrowland in the big round building - wow words are just not here this morning.

Tim & Malinda
Tom Morrow from Innoventions.

James Bond
I believe that's the late, lamented Timekeeper.

Janet Leiker
Looks like Timekeeper.

Randall Alberts
This is the Timekeeper from The Timekeeper circle vision attraction.

Vicki Fairfield
TIMEKEEPER!!! So sad - I will miss him.

What is this?

Answer:
This is the Monorail station in Downtown Disney. On very busy days, head south from the tram through Downtown Disney to here instead of going to the Disneyland park entrance. The lines are always short and it will whisk you right into Tomorrowland. This is my favorite way to enter the park, unless I'm planning to go to California Adventure first. The Monorail doesn't stop in California Adventure, but it does go through a small portion of it and the Grand Californian Hotel®.

The responses I received were:

Brian Martsolf
Disneyland Hotel Monorail station.
-- The Monorail used to stop at the Disneyland Hotel, but they had to reroute it when California Adventure was built, and it now stops next to the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney.

Jeff Toro
This is looking at the Downtown Disney entrance to the Monorail.

Shannon
Downtown Disney (Disneyland Hotel) entrance for the Monorail.

This is the underside of the track and station of the Monorail in Downtown Disney.
