What is this and why does it have a door?

Answer:
This is by the entrance to the queue for the Alice in Wonderland ride. This mushroom is one of a few old ticket booths still remaining in Disneyland, from the days when you needed a separate ticket for each ride.

The responses I received were:

Tim & Malinda
It's the control for the Alice in Wonderland ride.
-- That's the correct ride, but the controls aren't in the mushroom.

What is this and where is it located?

Answer:
This is one of the paddlewheel motors on the Mark Twain Riverboat.

The responses I received were:

Richard Blythe
The engine of the Mark Twain.
Don't you just love riding with the CM at top.
-- Believe it or not, that's one thing I haven't done yet. Maybe I should see if I can do that today.

Tim & Malinda
Part of the steam engine of the Mark Twain Riverboat.
